Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Except for the occasional flicker of movement, it remains inanimate.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

User Description

This hatchling is often mistaken for a small stone statue until one catches one of her badly spelled phrases, such as "ermag3rd where be c4ke" or "l33tspeek f0r the w1n". Besides her rather unusual dialect, she also periodically shows up in her clan camp, yelling, "0mg y scr0ll not 0rg4n1z3d", apparently referring to the fact that Beacker1160, owner of the clan, has a notoriously unorganized magical scroll that he uses to check on the clan's status. Beacker himself has said nothing of this, and probably doesn't even know what's going on—and the clan leaders who do merely chuckle at this little hatchling, patiently explaining over and over that they really can't do anything about it and that the (messy) scroll works perfectly fine. But that's not stopping this feisty creature. She's even vowed to never grow up until Beacker organizes his scroll, which probably means she's young forever. Oh well. It doesn't make much of a difference, since stone dragons take so long to mature anyway.
