Ochredrakes are a curious species with a wide array of mutations and interesting behaviors. Not as intelligent as normal dragons, they only breed with other drake species. While they may not be bright, ochredrakes are flamboyant and fun-loving with amazing, chirping voices to sing with, and tame readily in the presence of a gentle hand.

Though it may appear at first that dragons and drakes have much in common, the two are completely separate species. Drakes are smaller and less intelligent than their cousin species, though both dragons and drakes sit comfortably near the top of the food chain. They are always found bearing antlers and leathery wings. Drakes share many of the same habitats that dragons do, and typically hunt in packs.

Aloth Leedarv may be very, very dull to other dragons, but as an Ochredrake an almost human intellect is rather brilliant. He knows why plants blossom and not to eat poisonous mushrooms although he never understood why not to drink saltwater or dehydration. Here comes the reason why he is still a very dull dragon. When it comes to the complexity of magic, Aloth is lost. As he is when thinking of breeding, since, like humans, he can't see beyond breeding with his own species. Also, if he saw a fire he would reach out to try and touch the beautiful flame only to burn himself and in attempted to put it out, he may throw wood and twigs into it. His mate Eternus Licentia is the same with fire, saltwater, magic and dehydration but when it comes to poisonous mushrooms or why plants grow she wouldn't know and wouldn't care.
