Holiday dragons are a very mysterious breed. They are only seen during winter, and even then it is hard to catch a glimpse of one. They are responsible for the general cheer that spreads during the holidays. In essence, they are the “Spirits of Winter.”

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Aegis dragons are so rarely spotted outside of the holiday season it came as a complete surprise to the wizard when he was discovered by Azagir, enough so that he dropped the egg he had been trying to steal.

The moment the egg hit the ground and shattered Azagir was filled with an immense rage, transforming him into a force of vengeance on the spot. Realising the peril he was in the wizard disapparated on the spot, fleeing just in time to avoid the Aegis dragon's powerful jaws.

Since then Azagir has stalked around the territory and environs, roaring in frustration and anger. No one is happy to see this Spirit of Winter approach, and remain inside, sheltering their loved ones.
