Black Truffle Dragons are one of the rarest breeds—though this was not always the case. Once, these dragons were quite prolific, but their musky-smelling secretions were found to be useful in the making of perfumes and scented oils, leading the dragons to be hunted near the point of extinction. Now, these dragons live far away from humans and will only share their oil with those they deem worthy of this gift, those possessing a pure heart and selfless spirit.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Sir Galifyn is part of a small colony of Black Truffles that dwell deep within an uncharted forest cave. There are many tunnel systems within, making it spacious enough to be livable.

Not long after their arrival, they began to realize that food shortage was a problem as they could not leave the cave without being seen by humans, which could risk their lives. The only one brave enough to venture out was Sir Galifyn, and though his colony begged him not to go, he was undeterred. Days passed before he was seen again.

When he finally made it back, his family crowded him, frantically asking if he was okay. He looked a mess with wounds and torn wings, but still stood proud. After a moment of silence, he finally spoke:

"This world is a cruel place, but it cannot break me. We have been forced to give, so it is our turn to take."

He received many confused looks, so he escorted the colony to the front of the cave for them to behold the great pile of food he had stolen from nearby settlements.
