Daydream Dragons are the hosts of daydreams and fantasies. They spend the majority of their time sitting on clouds, dropping daydreams down into the minds of people passing by. Humans who live near Daydream Dragons must be especially careful not to let their thoughts wander, or they could end up spending hours or even days in a trance-like waking dream state.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Namer Ayumu Osaka Kasuga is known for having the most names apart from her title in the Group, having a whopping total of 3—a First, middle, and last name. Ayumu, like all others of her breed, is very much the daydreamer, but her spacey nature often causes her to have trouble distinguishing her daydreams from fact, apart from other weirdness. Still, she's a nice enough dragon. Now, as her title suggests, Ayumu's chosen task is to bestow names upon the other dragons. However, she only gives the temporary names that the younger hatchlings have before they reach adolescence, and due to her status as a cloudcukoolander, they often turn out strange. At least one dragon went around with the name "An Excellent New Year" before reaching maturity, while another had a girl's name before he grew his wings.
