Silver Dragons are arguably one of the most beautiful types of dragons. They live in high altitude habitats such as mountains. Silver females eat meat only when a male dragon brings it to them as part of courtship, though they are typically highly-independent. They possess an almost magical aura that lights up any place they are in, and are looked upon with awe by humans and animals alike.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Shattered Wings is a very shy and quiet dragon who prefers to keep to herself.  She was a gift as an egg to the Mitternacht Clan from her parents.  Her father, a great male silver, was obtained for the Dragonssong Clan by the Mitternacht Clan and she was their payment.  She never felt as if she belonged so she obtained no friends.  On her first day as an adult, she became injured and the clan leader's son, Zehn Uhr, helped her back to health.  They grew close and he chose her for his mate even though Zwolf Uhr, his father, had already betrothed him to Mondstrahl--another female silver.  She watches her hatchling constantly to make sure Monstrahl can't take revenge.
