Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It’s brightly colored and chirps quite often.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Lykai is one of the last of her original kind. Being a dark Pink dragon, she found that her kind was dwindling and being replaced with those of the light Pink kind. Lykai thinks that she looks much more beautiful than the other light Pink dragons of her cave, and she wishes that she had another hatchling of her color to play with, though she knows it's too late.
