Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Little Fluffle is a rare, specially-bred species of Pillow Dragon, affectionately nicknamed 'Cushion Dragons'. Thanks to human intervention, these special Pillow Dragons were specially mutated to stay small and to keep the mentality of chicks, with a slightly calmer disposition. Little Fluffle, as he was named, is a member and an act in a traveling caravan. He is most often used as a distraction for the smaller kids while the adults watch the more intricate acts, and thoroughly enjoys his role.
