Sophrosyne Dragons are a rare sight, typically making themselves known only to protect and heal the vulnerable. A visit from one serves as a reminder that kindness prevails, and that there’s always hope for positive change. While it is known that they possess the power to reverse botched spells, some claim they can even cure methodically-cast curses. This has never been formally documented, but these dragons have been seen arriving in the aftermath of violence, and the scars of tragedy seem to heal faster in their wake. The feathers of a Sophrosyne have thus become a symbol of perseverance and light in the face of darkness.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Helenta decided from an early age that she wished to dedicate her life to aiding others. Though her shy and reserved nature has always pulled her out of the public eye, the bashful creature has still found her own way of helping those in need. Helanta moves from place to place, observing from a distance, well-hidden, until she perceives someone who is ill, weary, or in particularly low spirits. Thus it is not unheard of for a particularly unhappy or wanting villager to awaken one morning well-rested and at peace to find a prized Soulpeace feather by their bedside. Once her target is in better spirits, Helanta moves on to find the next weary traveler or elderly beggar who is in need of her gifts.
