Sunstone Dragons are named after the orb on their tails, which resembles the gem of the same name. Their social structure resembles a lion pride, with one dominant male and several females banded together with their young. They prefer arid climates where they can blend in and dig for minerals and gemstones that they not only collect, but eat. The more gems they consume, the larger their tail stone grows. They are an aggressive breed; it is not uncommon to see two males battling for mates and territory.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Solarstride is a mean dragon, alright. There is no denying that. As a healthy member of the Sunstone race and as a potential male leader of the herd, he is quite arrogant and bossy. So bossy, in fact, that he tried to usurp power in this little dragon community, only to be put back in his place by the Vampire Twins. Still, that didn't stop him from strutting around and being the biggest and proudest pain in the neck for every dragon. Surprisingly, one dragon made it past his hubris and decided to be his friend forever and ever, much to Solarstride's disdain. Tailwhack, a whiptail dragon, can be always seen pestering Solarstride, poking him with his long tail, climbing on him, doing everything he can to attract Solarstride's attention. For now, Solarstride is doing his best not to snap, but they have already became the iconic duo of this herd, whether he likes it or not.
