This hatchling could hardly be considered cute.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

A female Black Marrow carved into stone as she did daily. Desiring to make it meaningful for her favorite holiday: Halloween, she poured her heart into making it special. Her paws dug into stone until her blood mingled with the rock. When she was done, she cradled the perfectly carved rock: a hatchling. Many thought she went mad, and began to pity her. A Black dragon whose eggs had been passed on to humans wanted the same, and matched her passion. He climbed into the cave and cast black magic into the rock, which filled it with life. Both were very happy. The human leader saw their love reflected on the hatchling and allowed them to keep it. Carved Creation is its name, and though outsiders see it as a beast of pure darkness, it is loved by all of the group.
