Ice Dragons are fierce predators who hunt using their extremely cold breath. The breath of an ice dragon can freeze its prey solid in seconds. The body of an ice dragon is so cold that icicles will form along its skin no matter the outside temperature.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Bo's Saphira Doom is so named because of her sapphire-coloured hide. Her last name, "Doom", represents the lineage in which she is, the Doom Lineage. She is a dragon who usually prefers to be alone, but the males are often attracted to her icicles, thus her first child, whose last name is not "Doom". One of Bo's Saphira Doom's main habits is digging her fangs into a large icicle that is hanging from her tail—the only place where she can pull off icicles and it doesn't hurt—giving a small tug, breaking it off, and eating it. She enjoys the soothing, feeling of cold on her teeth as she crunches through an icicle.
