Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Its eyes glow brightly at night, and it enjoys attacking insects and small animals.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

When this hatchling stopped growing, its parents were very worried and spent a long time searching for the cause. They finally agreed that their child must have eaten some kind of toxic heavy metal; they saw some symptoms of lead poisoning, and it is true that the hatchling will pounce on and eat literally anything and everything (if it is at all possible). Thankfully, the little one is completely unaware of their concern. As long as the world is so wonderfully full of things to chew on, it couldn't be any happier.
