Silver Dragons are arguably one of the most beautiful types of dragons. They live in high altitude habitats such as mountains. Silver females eat meat only when a male dragon brings it to them as part of courtship, though they are typically highly-independent. They possess an almost magical aura that lights up any place they are in, and are looked upon with awe by humans and animals alike.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Silvana Roseback is a very quiet dragon. The cave leader named her after two very powerful things, hoping for her to be brave and strong like them, but she isn't. She spends half of her time in the cave, and was offered a place on the council, because of her being a cave-born Silver, but she declined. The other half of her time is spent in a cave in an unknown location. It is unknown if there are other dragons there, or if she is just alone. She speaks of other dragons, but everyone thinks they are just figments of Silvana's imagination. She talks about dragons that can go back to yesterday, and forward to tomorrow. She talks of strange worlds where humans ride on the backs of agile metal wingless dragons that can fly, and spit metal. Worlds where giant storms that never stop block travel by sky. All the other dragons think she must be crazy.
