Silver Dragons are arguably one of the most beautiful types of dragons. They live in high altitude habitats such as mountains. Male Silvers hunt and eat meat. While not as beautiful or radiant as females, silver males possess better physical attributes, such as strength.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Lepidachrosite Quartz is a very handsome and gregarious dragon. Quartz was raised by Amyethyst, and that lovely dragon has instilled a humble sense of dignity and poise to all her children. Quartz and Moonstone are a bonded pair, and although they are unable to have children together, they delight in the children they conceive with others, and lavish attention on them. Quartz loves the highlands, and spends much time exploring the mountains. He seeks out rare plants and loves to surprise Crystal Calliope with them, and has added many to the gardens therein. Quartz enjoys making his Weyr-mates laugh, and is well-known for his long, convoluted jokes.
