Sunrise Dragons are closely related to sunset dragons. However, their behaviors differ greatly. Sunrise Dragons prefer to live in large groups and enjoy basking in the early morning sun. They are usually most active in the morning, and go to sleep in the early evening.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Named after the ancient Greek god, Kabiri is a dragon who enjoys his solitude; though he is social with his own kind. While on his own he flies around mountainous areas in search of metallic ores, using the intense heat from his fire to melt them into creative shapes. After a days 'work' he retires in the early evening as many of his species do; however, he has a fan, Thilea the black dragon, who finds it humorous to startle him awake in the middle of the night. Although he dislikes it he does not quarrel with the young female, rather seeing her playful nature a refreshing change of scenery and also finding these impromptu meetings a chance to show off his 'art', which Thilea seems to find fascinating.
