Imperial Fleshcrownes are an active and playful breed. They are equally good at flying and climbing and while they are not good swimmers, they love to take an occasional dip. Fleshcrownes live in large social groups called “communities.” Adult Fleshcrownes share the responsibility of looking after the young, who are very playful and active. Even after maturing, they retain their curious and mischievous natures, often getting into trouble. The fleshy crowns on their head can be raised at will, and are usually erect when happy, excited, or scared. Fleshcrownes—being a very peaceful breed—are more prone to flight than fight. If threatened, they can raise their crowns while hissing in an attempt to scare off predators.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

The Imperial Fleshcrownes under the Specialist's care have banded together to form the happiest, most playful 'family' any of her dragons have ever seen. They frequently remind every dragon they can get near, that everyone is a part of their community and welcome to play anytime.

Pifenk Frecklebooty is the closest to a family head the Fleshcrownes have, although she is technically the youngest of them. She loves every hatchling in her habitat as though they were her own and is always at the base of their napping piles. Though she was assigned to be mated with Fehfaw, she knows there's no way she can have more than one egg with him, and the feeling is mutual. Pifenk is often found entangled with two or more dragons in a play fight, and though she often loses due to her size, she will run and jump around the winner, chirping loudly until they admit defeat.
