Seasonal Dragons take on the characteristics of the season during which they are born. Thus, eggs that are laid in spring match the pink flowers and green buds of spring, and those that are laid in the summer grow to depict the bright green of the forest trees and the yellow of the sun. Eggs laid in autumn display the bright colors of leaves falling from trees, and those that are laid during winter take on the appearance of the icy snow.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Sunset's Fall -- or Sunny, as referred to by his siblings -- is a wild and free Autumn dragon.  He is not officially a member of Ran's clan; Oakenheim came across the Seasonal whilst he was still an egg, and secretly raised him away from the cave.  Only after he had matured did he start socializing with his siblings, learning of their ways and adventuring with them.  He eventually took the older Vulcanica as his mate, due to their equal love for caring for the home cave brood.  Sunny is extremely naive, and loves to spend his time playing and laughing with the hatchlings.  Despite this, he is a highly aggressive fighter; he hates the thought that his adopted siblings and hatchlings may get hurt because he wasn't strong enough.  The Autumn shares a close friendship with Magi Conjurus, despite the fact that the Magi dragon has never spoken with him.
