Stone Dragons have a tough outer covering made of a stone-like material. They eat rocks, using the minerals they contain for nourishment and to keep up their stone outer shell. They rarely move, and are the heaviest of all types of dragons. Although they have wings, indicating flight ability, no one has ever seen a stone dragon flying.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

The residents of the Kyokos Vale discovered Damarikomu's egg at the foot of the mountains after a harsh storm. It had a large dent in it, and for a while they were unsure whether it would hatch at all. But Damarikomu grew normally, except in one respect. If he is capable of telepathy, he's never given any sign of it. Mute and unmoving, Damarikomu  might as well have been a statue... until the day he first heard Oratama's music. Suddenly his tail began sweeping with the beat and his head pricked forward in interest. With half-skipping shuffles that might have been dancing, Damarikomu made his way to the place where Oratama was playing and watched in rapt attention. After the concert, he shambled after and followed her home. Oratama was delighted to finally have a grouppie, and Damarikomu has been faithfully guarding her practice sessions and attending each of her concerts ever since.
