Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Electric yellow scales shimmer brightly across its belly, and an even brighter spark adorns its tail.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Lightning Furiosity, nickname Lightning, is Shadow and Yellow's hatchling. Lightning stays near Yellow, even though Shadow told her to go off and explore the cave. One day, when Lightning was following Yellow to a witch's home, the witch cast a spell that would stop Lightning from becoming an adult. Now, Lightning plays with her friends everyday, but will never be the dragon she wanted to be.
