Albino Dragons are so named because their translucent, scale-less skin lacks all pigment. Instead, to help protect their bodies from the sun, they are coated in an oily secretion that blocks the sun’s harmful rays. The call of an albino dragon is similar to a barn owl--a shriek instead of a roar.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Alby Alberts had always longed for excitement in her life. Color, noise, drama, family, and sensational experiences were just what she was looking for after hatching. But, of course, it was just her luck that despite her long multi-dragon lineage filled with beautiful breeds, she hatched a plain Albino Dragon abandoned in a nest full of strange eggs that couldn't even talk. Well, except for Wiggly Wiggles, who was awfully full of herself given that she too had been forsaken by her ancestors. In time, however, Alby Alberts came to admire Wiggly Wiggles, because she was so upbeat and really seemed like a born leader. Wiggly Wiggles entertained all the younger hatchlings with stories and could make them believe they were in another world full of mysteries and wonders. Maybe Alby Alberts didn't have color herself, but her now best friend Wiggly Wiggles had all the vibrant vivacity that Alby Alberts was looking for.
