Dark green dragons, once they mature, appear to become an entirely different species. However, this isn’t true. Rather, they burrow underground and get nutrients from their vines. These vines are sometimes referred to as Dragon Grass. These dragons are very violent, and will use their vines to capture, kill, and eat anything that moves, as well as nearby plants. Luckily, their range is limited and they cannot use magic. Dark green dragons tend to be easy to spot since they usually kill all plants around them and thus are usually surrounded by a large clearing.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Deep within the Mountains of Elgar, far from any civilization, the human girl named Flight chanced upon a dark green egg while exploring one of the many caves within the mountainous region. The egg was lying on a patch of pleasant looking flowers, despite being far from the comfort of sunlight. Flight took the egg to her own cave, where she laid it besides three other eggs that she currently cared for. As a hatchling, Bloodstone of the Gems was a solitary dragon who was perfectly fine with being alone in his corner of Flight's cave. The only one who could truly get close to him was Flight herself, as Bloodstone often snapped at his fellow littermates. Though he cared for the human, Bloodstone was one of the few dragons who did not get jealous over the attachment that his "brother", Belikyd, had to Flight. As an adult, Bloodstone found the stone which he was named after and received the title "of the Gems". He now lives within the very cave Flight found him in and rarely comes out.
