Far and away one of the most enigmatic of dragon breeds, the Sinomorph is shrouded in near-complete mystery. While the exact conditions that herald its arrival are not certain, it is said to only appear when called upon by all six Zyumorphs. Record of its existence may be limited to folklore and ancient legends, but recent sightings seem to suggest this storybook behemoth may truly walk the lands of Valkemare. If the stories of the past are to be trusted, its appearance serves as a beacon of light in the face of looming calamity.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

So far outside the boundaries of Galsreim that the Goldenmage Assembly is as much a myth to them as they would be to the school's researchers, the Seven Guardians do their part to make Valkemare a little safer. Champion of Lost Causes is far less cynical than her name might suggest. Though scarred by many battles, she still believes that even in the darkest of times, there is still hope. Her nickname of Dawn (she rejected Hope as being far too on-the-nose) reflects this. That, or it's short for Leodon, depending on how whimsical she's feeling. Oldest of the Seven Guardians by a considerable margin, she's seen enough to know the importance of keeping a sense of perspective and not taking oneself too seriously. Otherwise, she would have been bothered by the knowledge that the six zyumorphs were hoping to summon a very different sinomorph. Champion of Lost Causes has a soft spot for the broken and seemingly powerless who persevere and willingly face impossible odds.
