Skywing Dragons spend most of their lives flying in the air. They hunt from the air, diving at prey from above, and land only to rest. They are some of the fastest fliers, capable of extremely high speeds. The webbing at the end of the tail acts as a rudder, allowing them to easily change direction during flight.
Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.
User Description
Fade-aslin was named because of her unusual attraction to crystals and the effect they have on her. Everyone calls her Fade. She has the qualities of most of the dragons in her species. She was slow to mature but most of her kind are.
She was flying one day and noticed water dragons. This kind kept themselves underwater and surfaced every now and then. The other kind she saw had floated and glided across the top of the water like ghosts. She had seen many things from her altitude.
She was gliding and spinning around the desert, where there were no obstacles in her way. Almost no obstacles. She tried to stay away from humans as their hide was valued by its beauty. She had one quality that set her apart. Her scientific nature.
She believed that her kind evolved from ancient water dragons. That would explain why they were light colors and why they had a serpent-like form. Of course this was only speculation and no one took her seriously, but she had a hunch she was right.
