Holiday dragons are a very mysterious breed. They are only seen during winter, and even then it is hard to catch a glimpse of one. They are responsible for the general cheer that spreads during the holidays. In essence, they are the “Spirits of Winter.”

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Flake was once the wise leader of the Holiday dragons, until a mysterious new species was introduced to the cave. Glimmer, a headstrong young Wrapping-Wing dragon, quickly became popular within her group, and they elected him as their new leader. Flake didn't mind giving up her respected position, as she had had enough glory, but made the new leader promise to not cause any trouble. He agreed, but Flake keeps her keen eyes on him anyway.

Flake is a mellow Snow Angel dragon with the wisdom of a thousand moons. She has served as the Holiday's leader and Virtus's second-in-command for a long time, ever since she hatched. Flake enjoys sharing her never-ending stories with the hatchlings of the cave, and every dragon has heard at least one of her famous tales.

Flake and Sock are like sisters, even though they are not blood related. They help each other through tough times, and are always there for each other. Not even death can separate them, their bond is that strong.
