Sunbeam Drakes are the diurnal counterparts to Moonglow Drakes, their eggs having been laid during the daylight hours. They are around the size of a small dog, and while docile, can be flighty and easily startled. Most can be found high in treetops enjoying the bright sunlight, tucking themselves away at the first sign of a storm or impending nightfall. Sunbeam Drakes enjoy flying in the light of the sun, and their treetop dances are beautiful, dazzling, and serene.

Though it may appear at first that dragons and drakes have much in common, the two are completely separate species. Drakes are smaller and less intelligent than their cousin species, though both dragons and drakes sit comfortably near the top of the food chain. They are always found bearing antlers and leathery wings. Drakes share many of the same habitats that dragons do, and typically hunt in packs.

User Description

Gorinia is a proud Day Glory drake, flashing his colorful wings to all who lay eyes on him. He likes to steal human objects, such as blankets, to polish his radiant scales and to make them shine ever brighter.

He had once mated with a Night Glory, both drakes mistaking each other for their intended mates, since both looked similar to who they had in mind. By the time it was too late, they both realized their mistake, and now they never want to see each other ever again because they can no longer be with the one they truly loved.

Gorinia has taken a liking for a little human girl who lives at a nearby village. He had seen her picking wildflowers behind her cottage, and he was curious enough to approach her. Since the small human was fascinated by his beauty and called him a "pretty flower", he was charmed, and plucked a single prized scale from one wing to give to the child. He hides from others, but only stays to visit the girl, lying in the grass as she makes him flower crowns.
