And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Deviant Ant was loyal to her friend Deviant Art. She wasn't hatched when Deviant Art was frozen, but when she did hatch, she felt a connection to her friend. They were best friends until it was the time she would become an adult. Deviant Ant knew that when she was an adult, that they would never be friends like they were then. So she politely asked the cave leader to be frozen. It was a hard decision for the little egg, but she chose it to keep her friend company.
