Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Another Eternal Child, Adariant rests in the deep caverns wrapped in his favorite foliage all year but when the Solhir'a Solstice comes he wakes and sprints to re-join his friends playing in the warm summer sun. Cheerful and bright, there are few things that can shake his everlasting good mood. When the end of Solhir'a draws near, the other Eternal Children are sad to see him return to his hibernating sleep but await eagerly for the next year when they can play again for another whole Quarter Turn of the year!
