Dorsal Dragons are so named because they have large fins along their backs that can be raised and lowered at will. They use these fins to regulate body temperature; they raise them to cool off when they become overheated. The bright colors on the fins double as a means of attracting mates.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

The Silver Trophy Princess is quite the special dragon. She was her owner's (and her clan's) 200th dragon, and she received the honor of being part of the Silver Trophy Ceremony, in which her clan was granted permission to hold a 6th egg. Despite being a thuwed (and having a most unique and extravagant lineage), she is quite modest and prefers to spend her days socializing with friends and working together alongside her clanmates, some of which admire or even worship her. Personally, The Silver Trophy Princess does not like being treated higher and above her clanmates, and she is always looking for ways to benefit her clan, just like her fellow dragons. Not being particularly pretty or attractive, she is normally ignored by the males, though a few have sought to be her mate, since she was her clan's 200th dragon.
