Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Lraycha is not an easy dragon to understand, largely because she is extraordinarily unsociable. She hates company and conversation, prefering to be alone with her thoughts and -- let's face it -- prejudices. For this reason, she spends most of her time away from the cave, hunting in the forests, living almost as a wild dragon and returning only occasionally to the society of her pack. This is partly due to the fact that, just as they do not understand her, she does not understand other dragons. She finds them simple-minded, as fleeting as butterflies in their purpose. The only true bond she has formed is with her frozen sister, Nohira, whom she adores and would die to protect.
