Gold dragons are the ones most often killed by humans, who consider their scales to be extremely valuable. These golden scales grant them a high level of protection, similar to armor, and they use this to their advantage in battle.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Jiyuishi is what you would call a willful dragon. When she sets her mind to something, no matter how small or great, no one can make her change her mind or convince her otherwise. Some call it stubbornness but, really, its just Jiyuishi exercising her free will. Born the runt of her mother's clutch she has always been told that she will never amount to anything. So, to prove the world wrong she goes out of her way, even to dangerous extremes, to show she can do anything she sets her mind to.

A dangerous philosophy of hers is, "No matter how great the risk, if the reward is true, it is worth the cost." Following this philosophy has often gotten her into all kinds of trouble. Yet, despite even being chased from human and dragon dwellings, she refuses to give up proving her worth. Perhaps someone should help her set a more just and pious goal. Otherwise, she might get hurt.
