Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It enjoys gathering pebbles and other small rocks and putting them in a pile.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Behold, seeker of the dragon lore, To'rylldalhar of the Green Dragons. Although she still looks like a hatchling, she is in fact older than most cities that exist today. It is said that her eternal hatchling state is due to a curse put on the egg by a druid. The curse was the revenge for the druids her mother had killed with stone boulders beforehand, thus creating a sight now known as Stonehenge. Still her mother did not leave her behind when she left To'rylldalhar's birth cave forever to answer the mating call of another dragon. To'rylldalhar has ever remained at her mother's side, fiercely guarded and defended against any creature coming too close to her, although her mother has had many healthy eggs and hatchlings since.
