Pillow Dragons are covered in enormous amounts of fur affectionately referred to as fluff. Despite their deceivingly large size, they can still fly even with such tiny wings because their bodies are remarkably light. Pillow Dragons have a habit of sleeping for up to eighteen hours a day, waking only in short bursts. During their few waking hours, they take the time to hunt for prey. Once a pillow dragon becomes an adult, its fur grows very slowly. Pillow dragon fur is used to make very expensive and valuable cloth known as “dragon cashmere.”

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Like a cat, Fumoffu spends most of his day sleeping. It is only during dawn and dusk that he stirs to hunt, and despite his great volume (due to his fluffiness), has no problems with out manoeuvring his prey. He spends his remaining hours mostly grooming himself as he take great pride in his "fluff", and has been seen storming off in a huff when the worth of his fur is brought into question. Although he is thought to hate water with a passion, Fumoffu has stated that he can swim if he has to, but simply "hates getting his glorious fur wet". Pride and perpetual sleepiness aside, Fumoffu, in general, is a very kind-spirited dragon. He often allows various animals to rest on his fur at night (though he avidly grooms it during the following dawn), living up to the name of "Pillow dragon", and always gives these animals a significant head start at dawn for them to escape (before he starts hunting them down as food). For this, the warmongering Kuroe has nicknamed him "the hypocrite dragon".
