Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Ever since it hatched, it has been hiding among the tree leaves.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Ryavel hails from the northern region of the Lorekeepers. When the truth had been told, they started to immigrate to the different countries within the cursed, magicless land. Ryavel's parents wished to travel to the legendary ark to the south, but illness and fatigue from the journey took them prematurely. Ryavel alone made it to the ark, now a flourishing island nation mostly uninformed of its true nature. He has now been taken into the orphanage, surprised by how many know his native tongue. He now frolicks happily with the other orphans, climbing trees and playing with Reinhilde's dog.
