Horse Dragons have equine-shaped bodies and hooves instead of claws, which allow them to be fast runners. They specialize in running takeoffs, which are quicker than taking off from a stand-still. Horse dragons are able to stalk their prey from the ground then quickly execute an aerial attack for the kill.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Nessus, much like his mate Nessa, enjoys running around any space available. Unlike his mate however, he is not that fond of showing off as he prepares to fly, preferring instead to focus on not hitting a tree or running into a lake, like what happened to Nessa. Like Nessa, Nessus is sometimes used by his caretaker to deliver messages as well, but as Nessus has the somewhat irritating habit of either attempting to scare her friends or just plain eat the message if his caretaker's hand wanders to close to him, his caretaker has decided instead to use Nessus to capture bandits, mercenaries, and others of those ilk for rewards, and that seems to please Nessus much more than being just a messenger.
