Nebula Dragons are nocturnal creatures. With the best eyesight to be found, they are often seen staring into space. Each dragon tends to observe a particular nebula and will eventually change their colors and patterns to match it. As the nebula changes over time, the dragon changes with it. The more intricate the design of the nebula, the better chance an individual has of attracting a mate. It is said that the markings on no two Nebula Dragons will be exactly the same.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Galaxy Portrait was named for her passion of art. Ever since she was a young hatchling, she was fascinated by the designs in the sky that formed the mythical faraway galaxies. All nebulas are known to admire them, but she wanted to duplicate them for others to see. Galaxy learned to take a paintbrush in her mouth and use different, crushed berries as paint, spreading them across a blank canvas to create the brilliant patterns see in the night sky. Her work became popular with dragons who couldn't have they joy of going out at night to see these stars with their own eyes, and she came to be known as "Galaxy portrait." As an adult, she fell in love with a dragon with a past similar to hers, Galaxy Canvas. Now, the two live in harmony, creating admirable paintings. Galaxy is now the mother of a unique lineage of dragons who share her love of art. This lineage is known as the "Galaxy Paint" lineage by many, and some might claim them to be some of the most talented artists in dragon cave.
