Striped Dragons come in a dazzling array of colors complemented by an intricate pattern of stripes. These bright colors and patterns help attract their favorite food, insects. Because their prey is so tiny, striped dragons must spend a large portion of their day eating. The color of the offspring is usually determined by the dragon’s mate.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Odelia was hatched and raised in the Cocholak Palace as the princess's pet. The princess was a cruel person, constantly mistreating the young Stripe Dragon; causing Odelia to become frightened of all humans. It was a chilly day when the princess wanted to walk the gardens, ordering Odelia to follow as a form of protection. As they entered the garden assassians, formally known as the Obsidian Guild of Thieves, attacked the princess, who fell back into the castle leaving Odelia behind. The Guild leader, Furkas, a human who appreciated all living things, approached the dragon and asked her to flee with them. Odelia join the Guild and became a Flyer, carrying messages and or people to certain areas. She grew and became happy while with the Guild.
