And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Aedealveis is a gentle, quiet dragon. Her disposition dramatically contrasts her young, bright eyed appearance: she behaves more like a world-weary elder than a rambunctious hatchling. She spends most of her time resting in the shade or gliding alone under the stars at night, but can also be found timidly socializing with other dragons. The pretty, dainty way she carries herself and her kind manner have made her well loved, though she is sometimes picked on by more aggressive dragons.
