And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Ojio was frozen as a result of his turning out to be a male amidst the female hatchlings. Despite this, the officers in the army couldn't simply abandon him as they had so many others. His loving personality and gentle trust went straight to the hearts of each of them and so he, though frozen, still he remains a happy-go-lucky member of the Pinkness army. Deep down, he knows he is different and sometimes it leaves him a little sadder but even deeper and more heartfelt is the love he holds for his "mothers". Every pink dragon in the army is a mother to him in his eyes and he loves them all dearly. Even those who avoid him or even outright dislike him for his maleness are, in his eyes, wonderful mothers.
