When Water Dragons mature, they lose the ability to survive on land, entering the water permanently. They are adept swimmers and eat whatever fish are in the lake they live in. They tend to inhabit the same lake for their entire lives, although a few live in the ocean and swim all over the world.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

OceanJackal is a violent Water Dragon who doesn't belong to any cave. The cave closest to him will tolerate him when he isn't a danger to them, but they don't like him. He tends to spend most of his time fighting, killing, and eating sharks. He likes food that challenges him. One day, he saw WindWalkerWings, a Skywing Dragon, fly overhead. He was so taken with her that he longed to see her again, and he did see her since she was a courier for her cave. He saw her again and again, and one day he gained the courage to signal to her. They talked to one another all day and most of the night. From then on, WindWalkerWings often visited, and those visits brightened OceanJackal's life.
