Ignimbri Dragons are perpetual wanderers, constantly seeking locations rich with their preferred sustenance: the charred or smoldering remains of flora and fauna who had the misfortune to be caught in explosive wildfires or volcanic eruptions. Vents hidden between the dragon’s scales and tail expel a thick, cloud-like steam, allowing the dragon to exhaust surplus heat. They then coalesce the steam near these vents into a pillowy mane, which helps to obscure the dragon’s form in the chaotic environments they frequent. If an abundance of this steam is produced, the excess can create cloud coverage capable of causing a refreshing rainfall. Ignimbri Dragons play an important role in renewing the lands they travel through, clearing large debris and leaving just enough detritus to encourage new growth.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation.
