Pillow Dragons are covered in enormous amounts of fur affectionately referred to as fluff. Despite their deceivingly large size, they can still fly even with such tiny wings because their bodies are remarkably light. Pillow Dragons have a habit of sleeping for up to eighteen hours a day, waking only in short bursts. During their few waking hours, they take the time to hunt for prey. Once a pillow dragon becomes an adult, its fur grows very slowly. Pillow dragon fur is used to make very expensive and valuable cloth known as “dragon cashmere.”

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Her childhood was peaceful due to the attention she received from dragons such as Ilegy, who helps protect and rear new hatchlings. As she grew into an adult, she changed from being energetic to lethargic. She spent more time sleeping and at first she had not noticed; she fell asleep quite unwillingly. Then there were the times when she'd wake to find herself covered with other hatchlings, dragons, and sometimes, a human, all who adored her soft fur. Much to her annoyance, she would shake all of them off; she loathed being used as a pillow for the sake of others!

Then a young dragon came. His name was Delicious Sleep. Constantly throughout the day and even night, he would jolt her awake with an affectionate nip or headbutt. He always had a story or two to tell her, and lavished all of his attention onto Delicious Pillow. This companionship took root into her heart and grew until she realized that she would never want him out of her sight or touch. And to this day, he never has.
