Pumpkin Dragons are a very small breed, named after their affinity for pumpkins. They are always found living inside hollowed-out pumpkins, and are only seen during the harvest season. Young children often hollow out and decorate their pumpkins in the hope that a Pumpkin Dragon will make it his or her home.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Pygmy dragons are the smallest category of dragons, being on the same scale as domesticated animals. They are often found around concentrated populations of dragons, relying on their larger brethren to ward away potential predators and leave scraps. As such, the majority of a pygmy’s diet is scavenged. Due to their tiny size, pygmies do not breed with larger varieties of dragons.

Ahh, Xanthophobia: the fear of dust. Poor Phobi, as she's known, was the subject of a cruel experiment. Some scientist wanted to make a dragon fear the smallest thing he could possibly think of that was visible; he came up with dust. His cruel and pathetic experiment on a poor Pumpkin Dragon was discovered, and he was thrown in jail while Phobi was given to a responsible dragon trainer. What happened to Phobi as a hatchling is mostly unknown, but she absolutely hates dusty areas, and spends most of her time hiding in her pumpkin shell.

When she first arrived at Natasha's Phobi cried every time anyone mentioned dust, and she screamed at the sight of it. Now, as a young adult, Phobi has gotten over much of her past abuse, but she is still very cautious about seeing anyone; she won't see them until they promise they are dust-free. At first, some crueler Vampires teased her for this. However, to the whole cave's surprise, Linkar out of all the dragons stood up for her. They're a pair now.
