Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Its skin is smooth and doesn’t seem to have any color to it.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Despite her grand heritage, Opal was abandoned and forgotten as an egg. She was left in a pile with countless others, no one wanted her. She was finally picked up by Luna-Bell's herd's nurse maid, Peach Parfait. She was frozen soon after she was hatched. Opal is in fact, a Dorkface, but she ignores anyone who calls her by that name. Since she was abandoned so close to death and for so long, she thinks she doesn't deserve to be called by her great-great-great-great-great-great-great-grandfather's name. Instead she lives humbly in Luna's herd, never leaving the dragon who saved her, Peach Parfait's side.
