Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It’s a brilliant blue-green color.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

She picked up a scroll very carefully, left by another sapphire. It read, with pensive writing, a poem of what could best be described as the summer's end.

"She whispered the breeze goodbye,

As it left a little kiss on her forehead.

It left her.

While what waited for her back

Home were the flowers like

Souls of the loved

Not all questions were meant to be answered

Once said a wise,

Wise old dragon

Whom didn't seem to care much for the flowers

That bounced and danced in the summer haze,

But instead the memories left by the sea.

The younger one of the two,

With stunning scales of vain beauty,

Although much in doubt,

Carried on caring for

The dead flowers.

A petal vanishes

Like her summer dreams of glory,

The sun and its brilliance

Seemed to never stay,

Much like those she loved."

She smiled at the other sapphire, with eyes that seemed to laugh.
