Valentine eggs are only seen once a year. Adults’ mating seasons are very short, usually spanning a few weeks in the mid-to-late winter. These dragons were once reputed to be omens of good luck in love.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Affection is a rather vain, snooty dragon, though by no means aggressive. She cares immensely for her looks and will take great care to tend to them on an hourly basis. She adores showing herself off, especially if she can do so with sparkles. Affection really loves shiny objects. She's almost like a Heartstealer the way she covets anything that glimmers and shines. She will often wear these trinkets around, dawning them as necklaces, rings, and bracelets. She uses them to accentuate her beauty and show off even more. Though clearly the arrogant type, Affection does still express her namesake, if only to a given few in her community. She is highly sociable and loves conversation, even if she may be too ditzy to talk about anything meaningful. Affection thrives when she is given attention. Very rarely, she will even give pieces of her prized jewel collection to those she likes as a symbol of their bond. These chosen few should be wise and accept this as a great honor. She does.
