Hellfire Wyverns are so named for their foul tempers and fiery visages. Their social structure places all females above all males, due to superior physical characteristics and violent dispositions. Forced subservience of the males causes them to become vicious, petty, antisocial, and passive-aggressive compared to the aggressive and social females. However, orphaned hatchlings raised by foster parents of another species can develop surprisingly even tempers and mellow dispositions, proving that their defining unpleasant nature is, in fact, a learned behavior.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Helen of Hellfire was a violent hatchling and that stayed with her into adulthood. Their are only two creatures that can remotely control her. Silent Flame and her owner.

Helen challenged the mute dragon, saying that she should be the one to teach the hatchlings to breath fire. Silent Flame refused to step down from her position. Angry at this Helen attacked with a massive blue white flame. Silent flame let out  a burst of fire that causes the flame to be redirected around her. Helen stepped closer attempting to tire the red dragon out...but suddenly the red fire from Silent Flame's mouth broke through and Helen had to shut her eyes to protect them from the flames. In that instant Silent Flame swung with her forepaw and scarred the hellfire's face. Helen refused to be healed and her scars make her look fierce. She is now a day sentry.
