Sunbeam Drakes are the diurnal counterparts to Moonglow Drakes, their eggs having been laid during the daylight hours. They are around the size of a small dog, and while docile, can be flighty and easily startled. Most can be found high in treetops enjoying the bright sunlight, tucking themselves away at the first sign of a storm or impending nightfall. Sunbeam Drakes enjoy flying in the light of the sun, and their treetop dances are beautiful, dazzling, and serene.

Though it may appear at first that dragons and drakes have much in common, the two are completely separate species. Drakes are smaller and less intelligent than their cousin species, though both dragons and drakes sit comfortably near the top of the food chain. They are always found bearing antlers and leathery wings. Drakes share many of the same habitats that dragons do, and typically hunt in packs.

User Description

It was day and outside in the clear sky was a beautiful shining dragon. Her name was Goia, and she was a Day Glory Drake. With her wings all shiny and polished, she would fly around, flashing them and showing off. This female practically radiates beauty. Why, she could be a dragon of Aphrodite! Her sister, Zhara, doesn't care much about that. That's part why Goia doesn't really ever talk to her or even say she's her sister. To this female, her sister is a failure and it's a shame to be related to her. Sad, but true.
