Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Electric yellow scales shimmer brightly across its belly, and an even brighter spark adorns its tail.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Tempest Flaringsly is an adventurous little dragon, who loves to send sparks flying when he's happy or upset. He loves his mother, Ember Flaringsly, and his father, the elder Ivy Green Eleforte. But he detests his half-sister, Beatrica Luna Staziana, who bullies him incessantly about his small size and slightly off-sized fangs. He claims that someday he'll grow up and 'beat Beatrica to smithereens.'

Tempest himself is full of energy. He loves to zip around the place, setting things on fire with his sparks or blowing sparks at his half-sister. His favorite food is a small type of local pond-dwelling fish cooked over an open flame, and his most favorite people are his mother and his personal mentor, Terek Livingstone.
