Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It enjoys sunning itself in the morning light.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Beacon is strictly diurnal and will promptly go to sleep the second dusk comes. It is not picky about who it spends time with during the day, but at night it must be near either one of the Ember dragons or Maeyella, as the poor little hatchling is actually afraid of the dark. When it was outside well after dusk had fallen it got lost, and to this day has been scarred by the memory and associates darkness with fear.
